The method of pathopsychological diagnosis is based on a careful study of the characteristics of a person’s thinking, memory, attention, emotions, and will. The psychologist does not simply evaluate the final result of the tasks performed, but observes how the person reasons, remembers, reacts to difficulties, and draws conclusions. This approach allows for a deeper understanding of the individual characteristics of mental activity and identifies which processes need support or correction.
Based on the data obtained, the psychologist can draw conclusions about the level of preservation of intellectual and emotional-volitional processes, assist in the differential diagnosis of mental disorders, and also in selecting the optimal strategy for psychological or psychotherapeutic assistance.
