How EEG procedure is performed in children
The procedure of EEG in children is as follows: the patient is placed in a comfortable chair, a cap with attached sensors is put on his head. These sensors read electrical vibrations from different parts of the brain. The results of the study are displayed graphically. EEG is completely harmless and has no contraindications.
EEG indications
Indications for conducting an EEG are:
- insomnia, as well as other sleep disorders;
- cerebral vascular diseases;
- head injuries;
- psychiatric disorders;
- paroxysmal manifestations (epileptic seizures, etc.);
- neuroses;
- vegeto-vascular dystonia;
- frequent headaches, dizziness, episodes of fainting;
- degenerative and dysfunctional disorders;
- brain lesions (tumours, inflammations, neuroinfections, poisoning, etc.);
- some other diseases and conditions.
